PASSION AND DRIVE; even when a 6 year old boy’s palms were too small to have a full grasp of the instrument, he had already shown must interest in the guitar. Through secondary school, 30 minute recesses meant precious jamming sessions despite having to lug the instrument to school.

In 2005, he emerged winner for Original Composition at the annual nation-wide talent competition, Talent Quest; prominent names from the competition include Maia Lee (Singapore Idol Top 5), Kelly Phoon & Candice Toh (Channel U’s Project Superstar).

Ultimately passion surpassed prospects, thus a place for a Diploma in Engineering Informatics was given up for the closest to music production, a Diploma in Audio Engineering at School of Audio Engineering (SAE).

After graduating in 2006, Nic and his childhood friends formed the band Milubing 迷路兵 which took part in a nationwide competition, Channel U's Superband, and emerged as champions for that first season. Since then, countless TV and outdoor performances, on a solo basis and with his band, has added to Nic’s bountiful experience in stage performance. The opportunity of being part of the production of 迷路兵's 2nd album also presented itself in arrangement, recording and mixing.

Nic spent his NS days in the Singapore Armed Forces Music and Drama Company (SAF MDC). Music and Dance being his daily routine, whilst working around Seniors in the Performing and Arts industry such as Aleric Tay, Hossan Leong, Zaini Tahir in big productions, he was able to acquire more artistry skills.

Having been through numerous productions on TV and in Studios, Nic has gained much insight, on-stage and backstage with local and overseas artistes in major events.

Nic is steadfastly sure music and performance would be his life.

"Till the day that I’ve ran out of bread and butter is the day I’ll start living the typical Singaporean life. But for now, its music all the way."
